A 2004 study by the University of California showed that curcumin can inhibit the accumulation of substances that destroy beta-amyloid in the brain of patients with Alzheimer's disease and also describes the signs that were there before.

Compound THC (tetrahydrocurcuminoids) in turmeric is useful as an antioxidant and lighten the skin, to take prospects in manufacturing cosmetic formulations.
